I enjoyed the continuation of this series but I liked the first book more. After the great story in the first novel, I was really expecting more of the same here but, sadly, the author went back to the easy shifter insta-love without a great deal of conflict with this one. It was nice seeing the continuation of the story and I also liked the additional paranormal elements, especially since they open up more options for later books in the series, but I really wanted more story and less sex. There was sex in the first book in the series but it also had a really good plot that held its own. There are also some BDSM elements in this but they are mild and even if you don't like that kind of thing I don't think it will negatively affect you. I liked it and will continue reading the series but I still wish there had been more substance to this one.

This is the second book of the series so far and although the whole possessive mate thing isn't really different from any other shifter story this author at least try's to incorporate other paranormal beings into the story. When I was reading the story I thought to myself this is too predictable, but the author managed to throw in a couple of surprises. I am excited to see where the whole white pelt mystical powers story arc is going. I hope Talon's story is next and I really hope he and Jackson are mates! Anyway, this is a worthwhile read if you like the shifter/mate genre.
I thought I would start reading this series from the beginning, and for one of Gabrielle Evan's first books, I thought it was excellent.

Braxton is living life as a human and while he knows about the shifter world, he doesn't know he is part shifter himself. Xander nearly hits him with his car, but in the most extraordinary of circumstances, they are fated mates.

This book may not have the strongest plot lines, but I am giving it high marks for the emotional pull of the well developed characters, and the really good sex scenes. I loved the way everyone got along or didn't the dialogue was very realistic.
I was looking for another author that wrote quality M/M paranormal like J.L. Langley's With/Without series when I stumbled upon Gabrielle Evans. While the paranormal world isn't quite so different from other shapeshifter romances that I have read, I enjoyed the characters - although to be honest I compared them constantly to J.L. Langley's wolves and I found Ms Evan's a little lacking. Note that J.L's Without Reservation is almost twice the length of Leap of Faith so this could explain the greater character development. I'm hoping this will come with books 2 and 3 etc...I did really like how the shapeshifters are all different breeds and outcasts. I'm interested to see how this plays out in future books.

I've just bought the second book in this series so my recommendation is that this is worth reading if you enjoy the genre.
I really wanted to like this book since I gave the first one a good 4 stars, but as I read this in one afternoon, I found myself just wishing it would end. I found the plot a little predictable and the ending felt rushed - although I found the pace of the rest of the story to be really good.

I didn't like Keeton's character as even though I read M/M romance, I still like my men to be men, not a high school priss. I also found his dramatics to be incredibly irritating. To the point I wanted to put the book down. I think Mariah's character could have been developed more as the introduction of the demon realm needed more for me to buy into it. Plus I had a WTF moment when it came out that the mates could be around the shifters when in animal form without a solid explaination of why. And by the way, in the scene where Keeton was bitten by Mariah wasn't Braxton in the driveway? Because everyone else was - and when Blaise turned up in wolf form did no one think it was weird that Keeton, Braxton (if he was there) and Mariah didn't go nuts? Anyway, I wanted to like this book but I coudn't get into it because I am such a character girl and Keeton, who was endearing at the start, became grating at the story progressed. I will try the third book (Jackson and Talon) in the hope that I get my alpha males. The story looks a little different too (in a good way).
This is the first time i have written any reviews for an author. I can't say enough about the series and the author, can't put my kindle down!!! The plots are well thought out and not to easy to figure out, I can't stand a book that you can figure out after the first chapter1 At the same time I won't waste my time with a book either, if it doesn't grab me in the first few sentences i won't read any furthur. I have read this series ans have started on the "Fatefully yours series", and found that i could not seem to stop myself, as soon as I finished one BOOK I FOUND MYSELF UNABLE TO STOP AND HAD TO RUN TO MY COMPUTER AND BUY THE NEXT IN THE SERIES!!! I read fast but have literiallly stayed up more than a few nights to finish a book! Please write more Ms. Evans I can't get enough of your books!!!the only possible thing Ms Evans could do to improve her writing would be a helpful clue on what series are woven together and a list in the order that they need to be read. I never thought that i would enjoy a book about "classic man Love" but found that love is love no matter how its wrapped. The sex scences are well written and are hot enough to need a few minutes and a cold shower but for all that the characters don't ust hop from bed to bed.. There is depth and soul to her men that has brought tears to my eyes more and once!! DON'T BE AFRAID OF THE CRITICS THAT SAY ITS JUST ALL PORN1 DON'T LET ANYONE TELL YOU ITS WRONG TO LOVE!PLEASE KEEP WRITING MS EVANS I CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF YOU BOOKS!!!
